we could also do spear fishing of a sample of buildings from even google street view and correlate ML outcomes with other non image data that we already have, right?
Jason (Product/BuildSci) — 2026-02-09 14:06
Yeah--that might work as a manual test set.

For NYSERDA call today... I am no averse to taking their money if there are a lot less strings... Will explore this thread with Cody after I juset said we would do it for free. Frankly, manufacturers like Tunstall have asked me if they could advertise / sponsor Momentum before and I have said no... but NYSERDA sponsoring... that is a little different to me. @Jason (Product/BuildSci) @Bomee (CEO / Coder) any thoughts before 2PM call today>
"At this risk of Michael scolding me for saying no to free work, if it would support the accelerated timeline of the development for this analysis, or improve the quality of data we have at the end of the day, we could still be interested in providing some funding, and could be willing to treat it more as a "sponsorship", rather than having an explicit tool/database development contract, and therefore keep the SOW a bit more open."

I don't know--I guess let's see how few strings they are willing to attach. I agree that NYSERDA logo is different than a particular manufacturer. I could see it helping us more easily close transaction-based deals. Or at least I hope.
But I'm honestly not sure what would change in our timeline or quality of data if they sponsor it. Although we do want the image data they've already played with via the Cadmus contract. That would help us with the market sizing part.
Maybe we should discuss quickly before the call to brainstorm?
Jason (Product/BuildSci) — 2026-02-11 15:14
@Marc (CRO) I'm not going to say no to a low-ask sponsorship (although I'm not going to get a NYSERDA tattoo), I feel like the market sizing thing is the closest to the BDP, which is basically stitching together their data sources to allow these kinds of things to be run. Just saying.
I'll write up a summary of what I think they want so we can agree on that internally and understand the effort before getting back to them.
Jason (Product/BuildSci) — 2026-02-23 10:52
@Marc (CRO) I've put this deliverable description (not SOW) together based on my notes from our call with Brett and Cody a couple of weeks ago. Does this look right based on your understanding? Anything to add or subtract?
Also @Robin (BuildSci/Coder) can you please take a look and let me know if anything here seems not doable? This is intended to build on the other window/packaged heat pump work we're doing and then we can share a bulk view with them. It shouldn't result in side quests. And we get to let them know about timing--it's when we're ready.
Marc (CRO) — 2026-02-23 13:51
looks great. made a couple inserts that indiate that we would give them rolled up data at the segment level, not a list of addresses. I think that is what is ultimatley what is going to be most useful to them and I also don't yet want to put a hit list of specific addresses in the public domain until we have the infrastructure to support implementation at greater scale. thanks
Jason (Product/BuildSci) — 2026-02-23 14:05
Good point! I'll take a look and clean up before sending over. And I'll ask them if they've heard about the Cadmus stuff.
Robin (BuildSci/Coder) — 2026-02-23 14:41
I dont think the cadmus stuff will help with hotels and dorms, maybe we'll need another source
Jason (Product/BuildSci) — 2026-02-23 14:43
Good point
Marc (CRO) — 2026-02-23 18:06
and for hotels/dorms... perhaps it would give us an excuse to check out a reference like this per my other thread: https://shop.cyclomedia.com/us
